The workshop achieved its goal of applying a technique that focuses on resource reuse and the promotion of a circular economy, in line with the ‘conscious agriculture’ philosophy advocated by the company.
Grupo Agroponiente, along with its Technical and R&D departments, remains fully aware and involved in collaborating with initiatives that facilitate knowledge transfer among institutions, companies, technicians, and farmers. Specifically, this aligns with the Recicland Project promoted by Ifapa, which focuses on the management of all types of waste generated on agricultural farms.
In this context, our technicians recently participated in a new workshop, part of the collaboration agreement with Ifapa and within the framework of the Recicland Project. The core content of this workshop was the transfer of knowledge, specifically the preparation of ‘tea’ from compost made from vegetable residues from greenhouses.
Several members of our Technical and R&D departments attended this event, aiming to learn how to create this ‘tea’ from compost and greenhouse waste. By mixing these residues with water and aerating them properly for several days, the result is a solution or ‘tea’ that is extremely rich in nutrients for crops. This has been thoroughly demonstrated through various analytical studies conducted within this project.
During the workshop, the importance of applying this ‘compost tea’ to crops as part of fertilization was also emphasized. This practice completes the cycle of what is known as a ‘circular economy’ and clearly contributes to progressively minimizing the use of synthetic fertilizers and recycling plant residues.
For Grupo Agroponiente, these actions fit perfectly into the strategies for soil improvement and regeneration being promoted by our Technical and R&D departments. These efforts aim to introduce working systems within a sustainable and conscious agriculture framework, enhancing production, reducing production costs, and ensuring the future preservation of our environment.
