A lorry left for Valencia from the company’s facilities with 33 pallets of produce both for fresh consumption and for preparing meals.
Grupo Agroponiente is already on the move to collaborate with the people affected by the DANA tragedy in Valencia. The solidarity of the company and the farmers has taken the form of a first lorry with fruit and vegetable products that has left the company’s central facilities, in the La Redonda industrial estate, bound for Valencia.
The shipment, made through the company Transporfes Garigut, included a total of 33 pallets with a total of 20,000 kilos of fruit and vegetable produce, which will be destined both for fresh consumption and for the preparation of hot meals for those affected by the DANA, which is becoming very necessary at this time of ‘reconstruction’ after the floods and the tragedy.
Basically, the shipment has consisted of ten pallets of cucumber, ten pallets of tomato and thirteen pallets of lamuyo peppers, grown with the efforts of our farmers, who are already in Valencia to help meet the needs of thousands of Valencians who have been affected and who are going through very difficult times.
For the Agroponiente Group, making this small ‘grain of sand’ available for the reconstruction work, like others that may arrive in the future, is more than a sign of solidarity, it is an obligation, since the company’s corporate philosophy includes, in an important place, the conviction that, in situations such as the one being experienced in the province of Valencia, everyone is morally obliged to reflect on how they can do their part to help restore the degree of normality that is feasible as soon as possible.
This was stated by the CEO of the Agroponiente Group, Imanol Almudí, who emphasised that ‘every day we find many opportunities to help those in need and we are a sensitive company in this type of situation, but what has happened in Valencia has shocked us all and we immediately set to work to find distribution networks to be able to make contributions. Today, Valencia is all of us and of course we are all available to contribute whatever we can, which, for the moment, is the best we have which, although it may seem incredible, is essential right now so that many people can eat today in these Valencian villages and go on recovering their lives. From here, beyond this material aid, all our moral and sentimental commitment to the sensational people of Valencia’.
