After two and a half months of the new campaign, volume growth stands at 18%, surpassing the already spectacular 13% of the previous campaign and projecting a year that will place the company at around 380 million kgs and 400 million euros in turnover.
Grupo Agroponiente has started the 2024/2025 season with a line of growth that is even higher than the previous one in general terms. In fact, the first two and a half months of the season have seen an 18% increase in volume, which would be an all-time record for this time of year.
The company continues to consolidate its business model which is giving tremendously positive results in all aspects, given that the good general start to the season has also led to notable growth in turnover, exceeding last season’s figures by 28%.
These partial figures, relative to the first 75 days of the season, mean that the company is continuing along the path of improvement it has been following in the last three seasons. It should be remembered that three years ago, the company grew at 3%, the following year at 7% and the previous year at 13%. The current 18% means that the company’s growth rate continues to accelerate in very different market situations.
The fundamental reasons for this growth include the good productive momentum of the farms linked to the Agroponiente Group, both in terms of its own production and the confidence generated in the production environment in Almeria, which has led it to gain weight among its associated farmers and to attract a considerable number of farmers, who are joining the project.
In this way, the Agroponiente Group has started the season fulfilling the objective set, which was none other than to grow by more than 15% in volume, which at the end of the year would translate into a figure of around 380 million kilos and, at this price level, a turnover of more than 400 million euros,
There is no doubt that the company’s solvency, the seriousness and rigour both in payments and in the actual valuations of the produce, the increase in services and the teamwork, which every day is proving to be the cornerstone of the relationship between the Agroponiente Group and the growers, have been crucial reasons for this increase in the number of growers who, this season more than ever, have decided either to remain loyal to this company or to start a relationship with it.
The CEO of Grupo Agroponiente, Imanol Almudí, affirms that ‘the very positive results we are achieving this season reflect the company’s good momentum in the sector, the recognition we are getting from the environment for a job well done and consistent over time. With values and ways of doing things that generate solvency and ensure a very good return for all the agents involved in the project, from the growers to the company’s own employees, including our suppliers and clients, and therefore involving both the institutions and Almeria society as a whole, which is grateful that at the moment there is an exciting project in the agricultural sector, which is fighting tooth and nail to become a European vegetable champion based in Almeria’.
