Agroponiente Rejoins the Coexplay Program with Strength, Visiting Almerimar Bilingual School (El Ejido) and CPR Padre Tapia School in El Viso (Níjar)

During these school visits, students received training on healthy eating habits and the value of Almeria’s agricultural sector. Each student was also gifted a selection of fresh fruit and vegetable products courtesy of Agroponiente

Grupo Agroponiente continues to demonstrate its firm commitment to contributing positively to the community and improving the quality of life for those within it. Within this framework, the company has once again taken part in a flagship educational initiative that Coexphal—of which Agroponiente is a proud member—has been developing for many years.

This initiative is known as the Coexplay program, which consists of a series of educational visits to schools, each supported by a different company. Its mission is to promote healthy lifestyle values among students, while bringing them closer to the agricultural reality of Almeria, emphasizing its importance to our way of life, our economy, and its numerous social and environmental benefits.

This year, Agroponiente joined Coexplay in two schools. The first visit took place a few weeks ago at Almerimar Bilingual Public School, where third-grade students participated in a dynamic and educational session delivered by Estíbaliz Rodríguez (Coexphal), María Dolores Rubio Escobar (nutritionist), and Luis Miguel Sances from Agroponiente’s Marketing Department.

This week, the initiative continued at the Rural Public School Historiador Padre Tapia in El Viso, Níjar, where the same structure was repeated—both in content and team—with the session now aimed at second- and third-grade pupils.

From a nutritional perspective, expert María Dolores Rubio encouraged the children to explore how fun and rewarding it can be to eat healthily. The session featured interactive games, dynamic activities, and audiovisual content that fully engaged the students. Both Coexphal and Agroponiente conveyed a dual message: the importance of including fruit and vegetables in the daily diet, and the need to recognize the vital role played by Almeria’s agriculture in Europe and across the world.

At the end of each session, students received a thoughtful and healthy gift: a container of Agroponiente’s delicious mini cucumber at one school, and pear tomato at the other—symbolizing the company’s clear commitment to fostering healthy habits from an early age.
