These are gifts donated by the company’s staff, which are intended to contribute to making the stay of these patients more bearable on these special dates.
The CEO of the company, Imanol Almudí, highlighted the ‘human quality’ of our professional team and stressed that ‘the protagonists of all this are these children, who are in our hearts’.
It is a tradition that has been going on for many years: every Christmas at Grupo Agroponiente, the company’s employees participate in a collection of gifts to be delivered to two of the leading hospitals in the province of Almería, the Hospital Universitario Torrecárdenas in the capital and the Hospital del Poniente in El Ejido, to be later distributed among the children who spend the Christmas holidays there.
Once again this year, therefore, the staff of the Agroponiente work centres have taken part in this initiative, showing great sensitivity and solidarity with the families who are spending this Christmas with their children in hospital.
This is a kind of anticipation of the Three Kings’ Eve, which every year turns the large staff of the Agroponiente Group into a kind of special envoys of Their Majesties, to try to bring a smile to those who should always be the protagonists of this time of the year.
As they do every year, the management of both leading hospitals have shown their gratitude to the company and to this initiative, which is already part of the Christmas activities programme that is carried out in both centres between the end of December and the beginning of January every year.
The CEO of Grupo Agroponiente, Imanol Almudí, pointed out that ‘for us it is a source of pride and an opportunity to be able to collaborate with the Torrecárdenas and El Poniente departments in such an emotional and, at the same time, useful initiative. We are not the protagonists of all this, but rather they are the children, those children who cannot be at home opening presents or out on the street enjoying them. They are the ones who are in our hearts and we only do our bit to make sure they have the best time possible, hoping of course that their hospital stay will be as short as possible. Of course, we have to thank the tremendous involvement, not only material but also human, of the professional team of Grupo Agroponiente. The truth is that we have a team that is number one in human quality’.
