Agroponiente Becomes a Trustee of Fundación Tecnova

After years of close collaboration with the Foundation for the Auxiliary Agricultural Industry, the company takes a step forward and joins as a full member of the Board of Trustees.

Grupo Agroponiente continues to consolidate its presence in key institutions and organizations within Almería’s agricultural, economic, and social landscape. Following the recent creation of the Association of Trading Companies of Coexphal —presided over by Agroponiente’s CEO— the company has now taken a new step by formally joining Fundación Tecnova as a trustee.

This strategic decision reinforces Agroponiente’s commitment to an entity that, over the past fifteen years, has played a leading role in the development of the fruit and vegetable sector. Fundación Tecnova drives innovation and serves as a meeting point for numerous companies in the auxiliary industry connected to the agricultural ecosystem of Almería.

Moreover, this move aligns with the group’s current philosophy of expanding its presence and active involvement in industry forums, as is fitting for a company that is a benchmark in both the national agri-food sector and the regional economy.

“At Grupo Agroponiente, we are firmly committed to contributing in every way we can to institutions that play a key role in the development of our economic and social environment. Fundación Tecnova is undoubtedly a leader in the field of agricultural R&D&I, and the companies that make up the auxiliary industry are essential pieces in this collective success. Tecnova is today much more than a meeting point; it is a true engine of innovation. That is why we believe our place is there — as full trustees,” stated Imanol Almudí, CEO of Agroponiente.

This incorporation has been made possible thanks to a recent change in Fundación Tecnova’s membership policy, which now allows collaborating companies to transition into full trustees. This strengthens mutual commitment and reaffirms Agroponiente’s dedication to actively contributing to the advancement of the Almería horticultural sector.
