Success in the II Solidarity Auction of MAAVi Foundation and Grupo Agroponiente.

Exceeds expectations and raises €11,850 for the social inclusion of young people in the province of Almería.

It was the second edition, and it was not easy to surpass the revenue of the first. But Grupo Agroponiente and MAAVi Foundation achieved this last Friday in Vegacañada: the second edition of the ‘Solidarity Auction’exceeded all expectations, raising €11.850, obtaining more funds than the first and confirming that it is a solid and ongoing project in its collaborative effort.

The Solidarity Auction took place in the facilities of Vegacañada, in the room that hosts the daily fruit and vegetable auction. José Ortiz Bernal, former footballer and institutional and sponsorship manager of MAAVi Foundation, acted as master of ceremonies with the notable participation of the foundation’s general manager, Carlos Arean, and the CEO of Grupo Agroponiente, Imanol Almudí. The event was conducted by Rafael Cáceres and Antonio Salazar, two professional auctioneers from the house, who brought their experience and encouraged the bidding of the attendees.

Participants could bid in person, from the room itself, and online through established channels with a representative system, for a series of sports and cultural items that belonged to great sports stars, singers, and a successful YouTuber.

Thus, items auctioned included, for example, a 23/24 season jersey signed by FC Barcelona players, a ball signed by Jesús Navas, gloves from Marc André Ter Stegen, jerseys from Iker Muniain, Iñaki and Nico Williams, the three Athletic Bilbao players, signed jerseys from Joselu (Real Madrid), Álex Baena (Villarreal), Gavi (FC Barcelona), William José (Real Betis), various materials from YouTuber Willyrex, a centenary scarf from Atlético de Madrid signed by Cholo Simeone, the first signed studio album from Camela, and a jersey signed by José Ortiz Bernal himself.

Therefore, the goal of obtaining funds for the promotion and financing of MAAVi Foundation’s charitable activities related to social intervention, education, professional development, health, and sports to enable the real inclusion of the minors they have been working with for years, with a significant presence in the province of Almería, has been achieved and exceeded.

José Ortiz, master of ceremonies, expressed his satisfaction at the end of the auction: “For me, it has been a very special moment. After leaving football, I have participated in many presentations and public interventions, but this, with its charitable nature, is different. Everything went wonderfully, the goal was achieved, and we are very happy, starting with myself, who is absolutely
satisfied with the work I do at the foundation. I encourage companies to collaborate with MAAVi Foundation’s social work.”

Meanwhile, the CEO of Grupo Agroponiente, Imanol Almudí, was “very satisfied because we have consolidated a second edition of this solidary and committed initiative, which not only serves to raise funds for MAAVi Foundation’s actions but also helps its visibility and promotion. It is truly admirable that there are people like the friends of MAAVi who dedicate so much effort, dedication, and professionalism to the social inclusion and education of the young people they work with, and that they allow us, Grupo Agroponiente, to contribute a small part to all these processes gives us great satisfaction. Therefore, I want to thank, on behalf of this entire project, of course, the participation of all the people who bid for items, but also the entire team from both MAAVi Foundation and Kimitec and Grupo Agroponiente for the effort they have made in these days to ensure everything went perfectly.”

It should be remembered that MAAVi Foundation was born in 2019 in
Roquetas de Mar as a demonstration of responsibility and social return of Kimitec MAAVi Innovation Center, the largest biotechnological innovation hub applied to natural solutions in Europe, with the challenge of motivating new generations with equal opportunities and boosting their talent. The Foundation is inspired by the connection to football of its CEO, Félix García, and through this discipline, they develop a program on four pillars: sports,
education, healthy living habits, and professional development. The person is at the center of the planning, and the goal is to provide support and create opportunities.

Once again, Kimitec and Grupo Agroponiente, who maintain a strategic alliance known as MAAVi Lab for the research and development of natural solutions, joined forces to ensure the success of the event. Thanks to this collaboration, €11,850 was raised, destined to strengthen the social work carried out by the Foundation. This initiative represents the solidary and selfless side of the mentioned alliance between both companies.
