Agroponiente and Almeria’s Agriculture Take Center Stage in a Featured Video by Spicy4tuna Podcast

The company’s CEO, Imanol Almudí, leads the visit, showcasing the work of other key players such as Coexphal, Rijk Zwaan, El Plantel Semilleros, Kimitec, Bioline Iberia, and Smurfit.

Almeria’s agricultural sector recently starred in a powerful and visually striking video produced by the popular podcast Spicy 4tuna, which boasts thousands of followers and a strong presence across digital platforms. This project carries major significance for spreading awareness of the ‘Almería Agricultural Model’, highlighting its unique value and impact on the economy, environment, nutrition, and public health.

The CEO of Grupo Agroponiente, Imanol Almudí, served as the main host and voice of the Almerian model, guiding the podcast team through various key stages of the production, logistics, and commercialization process. The tour featured visits to some of the most representative companies and organizations in the sector, including:

  • The Rijk Zwaan Experimental & Development Center

  • Bioline Iberia, specialists in biological control

  • A El Plantel Semilleros facility

  • The headquarters of Kimitec Group

  • Smurfit WestRock, packaging solutions

  • The Coexphal association

  • A zucchini greenhouse

  • And, of course, Grupo Agroponiente’s own facilities

The visit and resulting video —already published on YouTube—https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xvTE8u7JrgA  are of vital importance. Unlike other, sometimes misleading portrayals, this production offers a sensitive, rigorous, and honest perspective of the sector and its contributions. It’s a narrative built on facts and grounded in reality.

Grupo Agroponiente’s CEO expressed the following:

“For us at Agroponiente —and for the sector as a whole— initiatives like this are incredibly valuable. There’s so much good to be told about our work, and one of our weaknesses has been not sharing that story enough. Others have arrived with biased intentions, exaggerating or even fabricating negative narratives about our model. But countering that doesn’t require spin — it just takes telling the truth. Our model is innovative, technological, sustainable, socially responsible, and deeply connected to public health and nutrition. It’s a driving force in our economy. We must continue to share this value, proudly and without pause. The visit from the Spicy 4tuna team is a perfect example of that, and I’m confident it will have a very positive impact.”
