The mayor of Adra, Manuel Cort\u00e9s, met the CEO, Imanol Almud\u00ed, to talk about this project, which was launched on 1 August.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The mayor of Adra, Manuel Cort\u00e9s, has held a meeting with Imanol Almud\u00ed, CEO of Grupo Agroponiente, a company that has just started its new auction in Adra. In this way, as is already known, Grupo Agroponiente, a company of reference in the agricultural sector, is setting up in these former AgrupaAdra facilities to expand its commercial infrastructure with the auction and with a packaging warehouse that will generate almost 300 jobs in the town of Adra.<\/p>\n

The mayor has taken advantage of this meeting to welcome them and thank them “for betting on Adra to put this project into operation”. As he stressed, “agriculture is one of the main engines of the city and the arrival of Agroponiente to these important facilities boosts the growth of the sector in Adra, offers new options, services and greater proximity to our farmers”. “It has been proven that our city is attractive for companies and investment, and an example of this is that companies like Agroponiente can generate almost 300 jobs among our Abderitans with the auction business and the packaging centre,” he said.<\/p>\n

At this meeting, the Mayor was accompanied by Francisco L\u00f3pez, Councillor for Agriculture, and Mar\u00eda Paz Fern\u00e1ndez, Councillor for the Presidency, Employment Promotion and Training. For his part, Imanol Almud\u00ed went to the Consistory with the company’s Head of Institutional Relations, Jos\u00e9 Miguel Fresneda, who discussed the new Agroponiente auction and marketing project in Adra, and “how it aims to give a boost to the region, ensuring quality employment and providing the necessary security for the farmer”. As they have highlighted, the centre is already in operation with the auction service available to farmers and it will be from 1 October, with the inauguration of the product packaging centre on the same site, when almost 300 new jobs will be generated, “revitalising the historic agricultural area of Adra”.<\/p>\n
